My Personal Reflection on Blog writing

I will be completely transparent; I am not a fan of writing… After taking Comm 224 Social Media Writing and Design Class, it forced me to learn how to write for blogs. At first, I was not a fan of these assignments writing a blog once every week. I realized it’s a lot more work than I could have even imagined. I respect blog writers who do this for a living or on the side.
I have been writing blogs for the past 11 weeks and learning what works and does not work when it comes to portraying my message for my specific traveling topic it will be that week. A lot of planning before you can just start writing a blog, I find myself planning more extensively because it helps when setting up the structure of my blogs.
I have written now 8 blogs in my entire life, and I have grown to absolutely love writing blogs for my website. I find it very relaxing and comforting allowing my ideas and personal experiences expressed on paper while giving insight to personal experiences traveling to extravagant places. I want to share the experience whether good or bad and maybe it will help or inform others if they ever plan on going to these places. I tried to make my blog personal to hopefully connect with my audience and gain their trust that I am telling the truth about my experiences.
Before we start writing blogs our first few weeks for figuring out a Niche that we are passionate about and stick with that niche for our blog writing. We also went over branding and finding our own brands. I enjoyed most out of this class was learning how to write to your specific audience for your niche.
My specialty is traveling, and initially, I believed I had numerous topics for a travel blog. However, I soon realized I was running out of ideas. This is where research proves invaluable. By exploring other blogs in the same niche, I discovered there are many more subjects I can cover related to travel, such as packing, travel safety tips, traveling comfortably, and popular spots in Kauai.
12 Tips for Writing a Blog
In this class, we reviewed others' captions and blogs, analyzing them to identify what was missing or what could be added to enhance our own blogs using keywords for Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Incorporating hashtags, links, and keywords can increase your blog's traffic and visibility. I find that a bit of extra planning and research makes the blog writing process much smoother. I've noticed that when I invest more time in research and planning for my blog posts, it prevents me from getting stuck or experiencing writer's block.
Over these 16 weeks in this class, I have grown and begun to love the process of blog writing. I've come to understand my niche, which I once thought was beyond my grasp, and realized I have a lot to share about my travels and the challenges I face during them.
I do plan on writing more blogs about my travels this summer and keep writing I am learning to enjoy putting my thoughts and experiences on on these blogs. I have learned a better way of of writing for myself and expresing feelings through words and emotions. I want people who read my blogs to get a confident exciting feeling for traveling.
